Starting in October, Rotterdam The Hague Airport will be the first after Schiphol to receive an Airbus A321neo. Following the reopening of Eindhoven Airport in the summer of 2027, the Airbus will also follow there. The new generation of aircraft is quieter, more fuel-efficient, and emits less CO₂ than the Boeing 737s they replace.

“Our home bases are of great value to Transavia. By organizing our operations from multiple bases, we bring affordable flying closer to our customers and build a flexible and future-proof airline. That is why we are also investing in fleet renewal at all our home bases. With the arrival of the Airbus in Rotterdam and soon in Eindhoven, we are taking another step towards quieter and more fuel-efficient operations, so that more and more passengers, employees, and local residents experience the benefits of our new generation of aircraft,” says Paul Terstegge, CEO of Transavia.

Quieter and more fuel-efficient aircraft at all Dutch airports

Rotterdam and Eindhoven will benefit from Transavia's fleet renewal in the coming years. Rotterdam The Hague Airport will receive an Airbus A321neo in October. Following the reopening of Eindhoven Airport in the summer of 2027, the first Airbus will also follow there. With seven stationed aircraft, Rotterdam is an important home base for the Southwest Netherlands, while Eindhoven serves the Southeast Netherlands with nine aircraft. By deploying the new generation of Airbuses, Transavia improves operational efficiency and contributes to reducing noise pollution and CO₂ emissions.

In the coming years, the share of Airbus aircraft within the Transavia fleet will continue to grow significantly. At Schiphol, 62% of night flights this summer are already being operated with the quieter Airbus A321neo. With the arrival of the Airbus at Rotterdam and later also Eindhoven, the fleet renewal is becoming visible step by step at all of the airline's Dutch bases.

Vlootvernieuwing
