Airbus back in the air after bird strike
Summary
On Tuesday, January 9, our first Airbus collided with a bird. The bird strike occurred during the approach to Faro Airport on flight HV 5356 from Amsterdam.
Passengers and crew were accommodated in accommodations following the collision and were flown to Amsterdam on a replacement aircraft the next day. A new nose cone (radome) was fitted to the aircraft on Friday, allowing the aircraft to return to our home base in Amsterdam on Saturday morning. As a result, the aircraft was not usable for some time. The flights could be accommodated with a Boeing 737-800.
The Airbus with registration PH-YHZ has now been operational again since Sunday and has already made several return flights.
