Airbus lands as HV010 at new home base in Rotterdam
On Wednesday, September 30, Transavia assigned a permanent base to an Airbus at Rotterdam The Hague Airport for the first time. Around 9:00 PM, the aircraft, with registration PH-YHR, landed at its new home base as flight HV010. An arrival with a Rotterdam touch: both the registration and the flight number refer to the city. The letter R in PH-YHR and HV010, the area code for Rotterdam.
It is the first Airbus aircraft to be permanently stationed at Rotterdam The Hague Airport. The Rotterdam fleet thus consists of seven aircraft: one Airbus and six Boeing 737s. In the coming years, all Boeing 737s will make way for the new generation of Airbus aircraft.
With the arrival of the Airbus, Transavia is taking another step in fleet renewal. The aircraft are quieter, more fuel-efficient, and emit less CO₂ per passenger on average than the Boeing 737s they are gradually replacing.
Rotterdam has played an important role within the network since Transavia's founding . Since 2000, the airline has had a home base there with a permanent fleet and local staff. From Rotterdam, Transavia transports approximately 2 million passengers annually to 31 destinations, and around 350 employees are based at the airport.
The arrival of the Airbus underscores that role. Not only today, but also in the future of the Rotterdam base.
