First pile of new Transavia hangar at Schiphol

Collaboration with KLM
The hangar will be shared with KLM, who will drive the first pile for their part in a few months. With this semi-detached construction, both airlines are investing in a modern working environment, which at the same time reduces the CO2 footprint.

Work in the hangar
The hangar is used to store, maintain and repair aircraft from Transavia and KLM. The hangar offers protection against the elements and is equipped with specialized equipment and facilities for technical maintenance and inspections. With the planned renovation, the hangar is ready for the future, so that maintenance on new generations of aircraft from Transavia and KLM Engineering & Maintenance can be carried out in a sustainable and efficient manner.

Sustainable and energy efficient
Hangar 10 will not only be built sustainably, but will also meet high quality requirements in the area of sustainability. We use heat-cold storage, no gas is used and there are solar panels on the roof to provide a large part of the energy supply. A sustainable, energy-efficient and inspiring workplace.

Delivery
The Transavia section of the hangar is scheduled for completion in the second quarter of 2026. The new hangar will be located on the site of hangar 10, which was put into use by KLM for maintenance over 65 years ago. Hangar 5, where Transavia currently maintains its aircraft, will be demolished.
