Precautionary landing in Vienna

On Sunday, May 13, flight HV163 from Amsterdam to Antalya made a precautionary landing in Vienna after a number of passengers became unwell during the flight. These passengers were medically examined at the airport in Vienna, after which they continued their journey to Antalya with a replacement Transavia aircraft with the other passengers. Two passengers went to hospital for further examination. They left the hospital the same day and have now reached their destination. The original plane returned to Amsterdam empty. We keep in touch with the passengers involved through the tour operators to provide any aftercare.

Thorough research has been carried out into all possible technical causes. During this investigation, the aircraft was removed from production. Inspections and tests were carried out last night, but no findings were found. The investigation continued today. This was done in contact with aircraft manufacturer Boeing, in accordance with the applicable procedures.

To obtain further confirmation, a verification flight was carried out today, during which, among other things, the ventilation system was tested again. Now that a technical cause has been ruled out after this thorough investigation, the aircraft will be used again.
