Response to Transavia report OVV turbulence incident in 2016

Unfortunately, due to a sudden thunderstorm during a flight, 3 of our cabin crew were injured.
Transavia was informed of the investigation report on June 19.

We have fully cooperated with the investigation in the past period. As a result of the investigation, the OVV has made two concrete recommendations to Transavia, namely:

• to review our turbulence procedures, especially in relation to cabin crew self-sufficiency and
• ensuring that flight crews have the most recent available weather information for each flight.

Both recommendations have now been followed based on internal research. More current weather information is now available. In addition, the turbulence procedures have been adjusted and will be implemented within a few weeks after an internal review. This significantly reduces the risk of such an incident happening again.

The OVV investigates safety incidents in aviation, among other things. Transavia always reports serious safety incidents to the OVV. It is customary in aviation for safety incidents to be submitted to the OVV. This process supports our efforts to continuously improve aviation safety. In addition to reporting to OVV, Transavia always conducts its own investigation after incidents.
