Summary

Next summer, Transavia will fly to three new destinations from Rotterdam The Hague Airport: Bilbao in Spain, Edinburgh in Scotland and Perugia in Italy. The flights to Amman, Jordan from Amsterdam Airport Schiphol that start on October 1, 2019, will also be offered next summer. Transavia's summer schedule starts on April 1 and runs until October 31, 2020. Tickets can be booked from September 17.

“By continuously listening critically to market demand and optimizing our flights, we have a versatile route network with many beautiful and popular destinations planned for summer 2020, within the ever-increasing tightness of available airport capacity,” says Erik -Jan Gelink, commercial director at Transavia.

Bilbao

Bilbao is the largest city in the northern Spanish region of the Basque Country. The city is located in the territory of Biscay and is surrounded by forests, mountains, beaches and steep coasts. And the region is known for many culinary delicacies. You can relax in one of the local bars and eat the tastiest tapas. But there's more. For example, visit the world-famous Guggenheim Museum or the Cathedral of Santiago. The covered market 'Mercado de la Ribera' is also recommended. You can shop around Indautxi and Ensanche streets and go out in the Abando district.

Transavia flies to Bilbao three times a week: on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.

Edinburgh

The capital of Scotland: Edinburgh. A city full of myths and legends. For example, visit Edinburgh Castle, where you can view the Scottish crown jewels and the Stone of Destiny. And the 'Auld Reekie', here the past comes back to life. Edinburgh is not only the capital, but also a leading festival city and a UNESCO World Heritage site. There is world-class shopping, world-class dining and the city has a vibrant café culture and art scene.

Transavia flies to Edinburgh four times a week: on Monday, Thursday, Friday and Sunday.

Perugia

Perugia is the capital of Umbria, between the cities of Florence and Rome. So you will find the city in central Italy, close to the Tiber River. When you walk under the arches of Via Priori, you enter a beautiful medieval environment. Stroll through beautiful authentic streets and admire the impressive city walls. You can drink an aperitivo among students from all over the world. And who doesn't know them, a kiss of chocolate: the Baci from Perugia? There is a huge chocolate factory just outside the city. There you will find the museum La Casa del Cioccolato. In the museum you will learn everything about the history of the Baci and the many types of chocolate from Perugia.

Transavia flies to Perugia twice a week: on Wednesdays and Saturdays.

Other expansion flights

From Amsterdam we will fly additional flights to the popular destinations Beirut, Lebanon and Keflavík, Iceland in the summer of 2020. And from Eindhoven Airport we will fly more often to the Greek destinations Heraklion and Zakynthos next summer.
