Transavia introduces new policy for luggage on board
Transavia will change the conditions surrounding cabin luggage as of April 3, 2024. In the new situation, it remains possible for passengers to take 1 small piece of hand luggage on board for free if it fits under the seat. If a passenger also wants to take a large piece of cabin luggage on board, this must be booked additionally.
It has become apparent that the capacity in the luggage bins is often insufficient to process the flow of trolleys in the cabin in a timely and complete manner. Last-minute luggage often has to be collected and then placed in the hold. Furthermore, the change in policy is necessary because we are struggling with increasingly higher costs, regardless of our fleet renewal. For example, we have to pay more and more for emission allowances and maintenance costs are increasing.
With the new policy, Transavia aims to further improve the travel experience of passengers. The new arrangement will come into effect on April 3, 2024. There will be a transition period in the near future. In concrete terms, this means that the old hand luggage scheme applies to passengers who booked before April 3. So even if passengers have booked before April 3 and only travel after April 3, they are subject to the old conditions. The new policy applies to passengers booking after April 3. The starting price for taking a piece of cabin luggage of up to 10 kilos is 10 euros per single journey.
