Transavia launches dating format 'Dating Chairs'

Summary

Transavia launches Dating Chairs: a new dating programme in which singles meet each other in a place that for many is the start of a new adventure: the aeroplane. In short episodes, presented by Julia Heetman, we follow first encounters, awkward moments and one decisive moment at the end of each date: whether or not to leave together.

The format builds on Transavia's April Fools joke, which generated a lot of enthusiasm last year. That public response prompted the airline to organise real blind dates in the well-known green aeroplane seats.

The participants get to know each other during recognisable airport moments, such as a suitcase or passport check and quick dilemmas, under the guidance of host Julia Heetman. If there is a connection between both parties at the end of the date, they will have the opportunity to travel together.

The official announcement went live today, Valentine's Day 2026. Singles in the Netherlands can register via transavia.com/datingchairs. The episodes will appear later this spring on Transavia's social media channels.
