Transavia pushback truck converted to fully electric
Transavia has converted an old diesel truck into a fully electric vehicle. The truck will be used at Hangar 5 at Schiphol-East to move aircraft.
The vehicle is twenty years old, but thanks to the conversion, it will be ready for many more years. Not only has the diesel engine been replaced with an electric drive system, but the bodywork has also been redesigned.
Less emissions, less waste
The choice for conversion rather than replacement aligns with Transavia's sustainability goals. Reusing the existing vehicle prevents unnecessary waste. At the same time, it reduces emissions of harmful substances such as nitrogen oxide (NOx) and particulate matter.
Transavia aims for a fully electric fleet, and 75% of its fleet is already electrified. The conversion was carried out by XYZ Dynamics from Best, a specialist in vehicle electrification.
