Transavia puts people at home in the spotlight
This summer, Transavia will bring more than a million passengers to their holiday destination. And to make the summer holidays possible, many people are needed to stay at home. That is why, starting today, Transavia is putting these people in the spotlight during its Stay-at-Home campaign.
People who stay at home water the plants, take care of the animals and sort the mail, and do not necessarily belong to Transavia's direct target group. “We invest a lot in the passenger experience, such as our characteristic friendly service on board, but we thought it would be nice to put the spotlight on those who stayed at home this time.” says commercial director Erik-Jan Gelink. “Because people who stay at home are indispensable for some, we have given everyone the opportunity to thank his or her person who stayed at home with a chance to win airline tickets.”
For two weeks in June, people could register and thank their stay-at-home partner on TransaviaThuisblijvers.nl. The campaign video has been promoted through digital billboards around and at the airports where Transavia flies from and via social media, YouTube and on Telegraaf.nl. A total of 7,500 holidaymakers have given up their stay-at-home order. They were thanked for taking care of the plants (24%), the dogs (18%), the cats (16%) and maintaining the garden (12%) and a few looked after snakes. No fewer than 1.5% of holidaymakers even have a full refrigerator when they return from holiday.
Today the second phase of the campaign starts with the distribution of a video in which the winning people staying at home are surprised and thanked with two tickets. This brings the story full circle and those who stay at home can also enjoy a well-deserved holiday. The video is used on various channels, such as social media, YouTube and Telegraaf.nl. All holidaymakers whose specified stay-at-home date has not won will receive a voucher worth €5 by email. They can forward this voucher to their loved one at home to thank them. Transavia would like to wish everyone, whether staying at home or holidaymaker, a happy summer.
