Transavia response to Supreme Court ruling

Summary

An interim reduction of Schiphol to 460,000 flights may not be done via an accelerated procedure. According to the Supreme Court, an extensive procedure must be followed for every form of capacity restriction at an airport, the balanced approach. European rules apply to that procedure.

Transavia agrees with the clearly substantiated ruling of the Supreme Court on Friday. This ruling does not release us from the duty to continue on the path we have taken to continue to offer millions of Dutch holidaymakers a good trip in balance with the environment.

In the KLM Group's cleaner, quieter, more economical plan, we demonstrate that the reduction in noise pollution can be achieved without reducing the number of aircraft movements. With our approach, noise pollution for local residents will continue to decrease, employees will retain perspective and we will continue to do what we are good at: offering Dutch people a good journey to beautiful destinations.
