Transavia sees fleet changing rapidly
Transavia's fleet is changing rapidly. Today the eleventh Airbus A321neo landed at Schiphol Airport. At the same time, the Boeing 737s are disappearing from the fleet. This change is visible on the platform and noticeable in the air.
In four weeks time, Transavia receives three new Airbus A321neo's. Number ten arrived at the end of June, number eleven followed today and on July 25 the twelfth is expected: an Airbus in retro style, in honor of Transavia's 60th anniversary.
Quieter, cleaner and more fuel-efficient fleet
The new Airbuses play an important role in making operations more sustainable. They use less fuel, emit 15% less CO₂ and provide 50% less noise at take-off and landing. Thus they contribute to quieter and cleaner aviation.
Boeing 737s leaving the fleet
Along with the influx of Airbuses, more and more Boeing 737s are disappearing. Five aircraft of this type have already left. At the end of July, the PH-HZE leaves the fleet to be decommissioned in St. Athans, Wales. Another aircraft will follow at the end of August.
The fleet renewal is thus no longer future, but in full swing. In daily operations, the transition to a more modern fleet is becoming increasingly visible and audible; an important step in making aviation future-proof.
