Transavia stops selling cigarettes on board

“In this day and age, where healthy living is becoming increasingly important, we no longer feel that selling cigarettes suits us. We also see that the needs of our passengers have changed; the demand for cigarettes has fallen sharply in recent years. This made us decide to take cigarettes off board.”   said Erik-Jan Gelink, commercial director of Transavia.

Cigarettes were available on flights bound outside Europe. Transavia has not advertised cigarettes since December 2017 and from April 1 the company will stop selling cigarettes altogether. The cigarettes are replaced by products that better meet the wishes of Transavia passengers.
