Transavia winner Internal Branding Company of the Year 2019

Amsterdam, Wednesday, March 27, 2019 - Transavia was the winner of the Dutch Marketing Awards 2019 last night, in the Internal Branding Company of the Year category. This Award is given to the organization that has achieved demonstrable effect with internal branding, both internally and in the market.

Jury chairman Guy van Liemt praised Transavia for achieving many milestones in 2018. 'It has been a special year for Transavia! Much has been achieved in strengthening the brand, both internally and externally. These steps have contributed to the positive results that Transavia has achieved in the past year; 2018 was the best year ever financially and Transavia has further strengthened its brand awareness, preference and use.'

Strategic pillar

The brand has been an important strategic pillar in the overall Transavia strategy since 2018. In that year, cooperation between the brand and various disciplines was sought, such as HR, Organizational Development & Commerce. In this way, the brand is anchored in the various projects/programs. Examples are the Leadership Program, the culture program and other programs that work on the basis of the brand values, the DNA pillars and the brand story.

Building the Transavia brand happens together within the organization. This means that the strategy, communication, internal workshops & (content) creation are developed in-house as much as possible. Our own employees experience the Transavia brand like no other and can convey the story authentically within and outside the organization. That is one of the great strengths that Transavia is proud of.

Transavia's greatest distinguishing value is its people. They make a difference every day by being friendly, warm and open-hearted. Transavia also knows how to portray this internal strength externally, such as in the YouTube series such as Welcome to Board and People of Transavia.

Special moment

The award came at a special time: 'A day when 183 passengers were stranded in Dubai and we were unable to deliver on our brand promise for them,' says Mattijs ten Brink, CEO of Transavia. 'Yet we want to celebrate this moment and reflect on how things can be even better. As a learning organization, we will evaluate this situation extensively and take every step now to arrange the settlement for passengers as best as possible," says Ten Brink. 'We see this Award as recognition of the enthusiasm with which our colleagues work every day to make 'make low cost feel good' a reality. Everyone works hard for that every day. We see this prize as an encouragement to continue building our beautiful Transavia brand with all Transavians in the office, in the cabin, cockpit and hangar. There is still plenty to do and learn, but we are well on our way.'
