Transavia wins Safety Initiative of the Year 2024
The Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management has awarded Transavia an award for Safety Initiative of the Year 2024. The recognition is due to the innovative Training Truck, which allows crew to be trained in emergency situations anywhere and anytime.
On 12 November, the annual Aviation Safety Network Day of the Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management took place. Various initiatives that contribute to safety within the aviation sector were presented here. Transavia's Training Truck won the audience award, with which the ministry employees and safety experts present acknowledge this initiative.
Innovative Training Truck
Transavia's Training Truck practices realistic situations, such as fires and evacuations, and can be deployed anywhere and at any time to train crew. This makes Transavia more flexible and less dependent on other parties.
Because the training takes place regionally, thousands of kilometres and a lot of travel time are saved. In addition, air pressure extinguishers are used, which means less chemical extinguishing agents are needed. Both are friendlier to the environment.
No Fly List
In 2023, Transavia and KLM received the same award for the joint No Fly List. Since September 2022, data has been exchanged on travelers who misbehave. These people are not allowed to fly with either airline for at least five years.
