Young people in charge at Transavia for a day
On Tuesday 3 June, young people from all over the Netherlands took their place in the chair of director or politician for one day. This also applies to Transavia. Not just a day of shadowing, but really 'participating' with the management, getting to know colleagues and discovering the versatility of aviation. For one day, they were really the boss!
Transavia had the honour of opening the first edition of JINC Baas van Morgen at Schiphol. This took place with a joint breakfast at the Transavia head office at Schiphol-Oost. Twenty-six young people and the 'bosses' they would replace that day got to know each other there. Royal Schiphol Group, Regional Jet Center, DHL, Customs and the Royal Marechaussee also participated and each took one or two young people under their wing.
Two of these youngsters were picked up from school in the morning by Marcel de Nooijer, CEO of Transavia, together with a purser. For one day they were the 'bosses' of Transavia. Both youngsters dream of becoming stewardesses later.
Marloes van Laake, COO of Transavia, gave them a tour of the hangar. After that, they were allowed to participate in part of the cabin training. They learned how to perform CPR, watched a first aid and evacuation training in the training room (the mock-up), and practiced the safety demonstration on board themselves. The young people got a good picture of working in aviation and of their own possibilities in the future.
